Thank you for visiting My1099 Hire.

As a trauma/surgical nurse practitioner, I dedicated over 40 hours a week to caring for patients during some of their most vulnerable moments. It was a profound honor then, and remains so today. However, amidst the demands of my profession, I struggled to prioritize my own well-being and family time.

Realizing the need for a change, I made the bold decision to transition to part-time work and explore entrepreneurship. Embracing contract opportunities, I navigated negotiations independently, discovering that representing myself often led to better compensation and longer-term engagements. My commitment to delivering excellence under my own brand earned the trust of the organizations I served.

Through conversations with colleagues also navigating the world of contract work, I recognized a common concern: the lack of knowledge and confidence in negotiating contracts and planning for retirement outside the traditional employment model. Determined to empower others in similar situations, I founded My1099 Hire.
